Farmers' Market

After a winter break the market is back in full swing. It will be taking place on the first Saturday in the month at the Old Cattle Market Building, Porthleven Road, Helston, from 9.30am to 1.30pm.

South Kerrier Alliance started this project in May 2008. It has achieved great success with the help of volunteers and a lot of enthusiasm. Starting with 13 producers in May last year, the market has quickly expanded and now has 33 regular producers. ‘The variety and choice of produce is simply amazing’, says Joanne Schofield, Market Controller. ‘We are very fortunate to have such a high concentration of local producers in the area who are in a position to come to market. The atmosphere in the Cattle Market building is wonderful, with live music, tasters and the smell of food in the air. With the children’s playground and skate park just outside, the children have a great time as well. It’s a real social gathering.’

For those who have yet to come to the market, the food on offer is fantastic.

Many people like to know who the producers are and what they are selling before they come to the market. So here is a list of who’s who and the produce available:-
