Children and Education Group
This group acts as a co-ordination group, bringing together those working with young people, to look at the gaps in provision of services and facilities and to try to address these. The aspects of the plan covering this sector are:
- Health information, family support, educational opportunities, leisure and youth facilities
- Involving young people in decision making and valuing the contribution they make to their communities and schools
- Access to performing arts, sport, leisure and culture
Projects and actions carried out so far are:
- SKILL (South Kerrier Initiative for Linking Learning) Extended Schools Project. A Flagship Project of SKACIC which was led and co-ordinated by the schools.
Topics currently being worked on:
- A youth shelter in Penrose Amenity Area, Helston
